John Derr has 45 years of experience working in vineyards, with the last 30 being in high end Napa Valley and North Coast vineyards. John has expertise in the development and establishment of both conventional and organic vineyards with an expertise working on hillside vineyards. His skilled crew manages vineyard development from the ground up, and manages vineyard cultural practices for established vineyards, including pest management, soils, nutrition, water and canopy management.

John grew up in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, and began his farming career at the age of 14 working in pest management for row crops, orchards and vineyards. His Viticulture studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, included planting and managing the college's vineyards. Prior to starting John Derr Farming Company, LLC in 2014, John furthered his career in the Napa Valley. For the past 2 decades he worked as a crop consultant in the Napa Valley and North Coast for Crop Care Associates and as the senior Viticulturist for Pina Vineyard Management, which included the management and direction of all Viticultural aspects for over 800 Acres. Under the supervision of Rosbin and Willson Yancor, John Derr Farming Co, LLC develops and manages over 80 vineyard acres in the Napa Valley for clients such as: |
